What had started as a curiosity, crush and flirtation had morphed into courtship and rejection. It didn't make sense. Then one sloppy beer-soaked afternoon, everybody got naked and we became animals.
This went on and on. Cycles of confusion and passion. Some genuine fun. Until I realized my heart lay elsewhere. I explained where I was. In effect she said "I don't accept." Cycles again. Until one night, it took: She accepted, sort of, but we needed some closure.
As I changed gears, she went through phases of feeling ignored, feeling clingy, feeling like it had been more than what I thought it was.
